Oscar weekend…

well, i had an interesting weekend.  i closed friday night and after i got off work, becca and i hung out at steph’s until they all went out.  we decided to be the "old married couple" and head home.  i worked saturday which was so boring!!  i really need a new job soon!  saturday night, we went over to steph’s house and played Apples to Apples, an awesome board game.

it was me, becca, steph, erin and brandi.  leigh joined us after she got off work and rhonda took a break from studying and came over in her PJs.  we played for a long time and had a blast.  we quoted just about very line from napoleon dynamite and did impressions of will ferrell doing an impression of harry caray.  "If you were a hotdog, and you were starving, would you eat yourself?  I sure would.  With mustard and relish!" i started feeling bad sometime on saturday and had some drainage so i took some medicine to dry it up.  well…it dried it up alright…along with my voice.  by then end of the night after playing and laughig so hard, i had no voice at all.  sunday i woke up with still no voice, but felt ok.  we went to watch the soccer stars and froze our butts off.  sadeana made a special shirt to wear which she proudly displayed as she ran around screaming "GOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLL" every time our team scored.  it was fun, but we did miss having katy there.  of course she called from the slopes of colorado and rubbed it in!!  we then went to the rugby practice field for flag football right about the time it began to rain hard.  they played anyway, i just watched.  it was fun though.   they got a little wet, but fun was had by all.  then the best part of the weekend, martha and ant carol’s oscar party.  everyone was supposed to dress up so we went all out… yes….that IS BECCA IN A DRESSS!!!  here are more pictures just to prove it! She is beautiful, isn’t she???  i sure think so.  i did her makeup and she did her hair.  she is wearing my fishnets and my heals.  we got the dress at a thrift store for $8!  it was a blast.  we ate way too much but the food was too good to pass up.  pizza, rice krispy treats, candy, salad, m&ms, you name it.  i also want to brag on my big sis.  she has lost 20 lbs and looks fabulous!!!!!  So… the oscars are over and i still don’t have a voice, but i DID have a great weekend!

GOOOOAAAAAALLL!!!

becca and steph ruled the game on sunday and scored all the goals.  they are really good!  come check them out sundays at 215 out at burns park.  it was so much fun hanging out with everyone.  we all need to learn a little bit about the rules and how to cheer though!!!  it’s a keeper, not a goalie evidently. and regardless of what sadeana thinks, you don’t get a bonus point if it goes in the side net!! hee hee!  check out the video of everyone…

katy kept the babies for us which meant that pico got to come play!  here is molly, roosevelt and pico watching sadly as we drive away for fayetteville!  pathetic, huh?  It was so hard to leave these sweet, sad faces!

Michigan stayed with martha and we missed him so much as well!!  he was pretty much a lazy bum all weekend though!

my vacation so far…

well, after memphis and valentine’s day, kelley came to visit.  we pretty much just bummed around and relaxed, watched a few movies and spent some good quality time with the babies. as soon as kelley was dropped at the airport, we zoomed away to fayetteville to visit kyle and jason and becca’s brother drew.  we had a great time, shopping, relaxing and eating!  we ate way too much, but who can resist kyle’s cooking!!!  he made fried chicken, mashed potatoes and biscuits and the night before he made whoopie pies!!  the are so good and i got the recipe!!  then saturday night we built a fire in his new fire pit and made s’mores!!  how much fun was that??!!  I LOVE these guys and always enjoy my time with them!!!! we had breakfast with drew which is always nice.  he’s a great guy and we miss him!  we got so used to seeing him all the time over christmas and then he was gone:(  it was great to see him as well as boomer!

MREMPHIS

no…i didn’t spell it wrong.  we went to memphis for a little getaway and for a fun concert.  becca highlighted the concert on her blog if you wanna check it out www.beccacarle.com

our hotel…French Quarter Suites

with a nice tub…

but………….the breakfast was horrible and the service left a lot to be desired.  the front desk lady was good and the hotel was extremely clean so i guess the important stuff was covered.  we ate on Beale Street the first night at B.B. King’s and had fried pickles, fried chicken and bar-b-que ribs.

The next day we shopped at Wolfchase mall and had lunch at THE BEST BURGER PLACE IN MEMPHIS-HUEY’S.  the fries were to die for!  then we took a little nap and got all cute for the concert.  it was at the orpheum which is a magnificant auditorium.  Wilco was amazing!  The lead singer has a great voice and it was great to get a taste of what music becca enjoys most. it was such a great weekend!  i can’t wait to do it again!
