workin 9 to 5…

it’s more like 9 to 6 and 1 to 10 and most saturdays, yuck!  that’s the main thing i hate about retail…the hours and days.  i can handle the work and i like people for the most part, but i hate the nights and weekends.  oh well….baby gotta eat.  so, i start monday and once i get used to it, everybody should come visit.  i know it won’t be the same as expressmen and not many of you will want to "use" my discount, but you can still come visit!

Road Trippin’

So…..i had to steal concert pics from Brandi ’cause i didn’t take my camera in.  I have all the pics of us on the car though. Anyway…we had a great time and sang and danced and had some WHATABURGER!  becca had to work ’til 7:15 so she couldn’t go:( So, it was me, katy, brandi and erin in my car and we met up with steph, fiona and lindsay.  good times!  we also ran into one of becca and steph’s hendrix friends, another becca.  katy got to meet michael tolcher and brandi roamed around trying to get the best pics possible.  all the artists were amazing and the arena was small so it felt semi-intimate.  it was weird to be back at college though!!!  we left russellville a little after midnight and headed home.  we named the car vegas…."what is said in vegas, stays in vegas."  we had some great conversations about life and love and i really enjoyed the honesty and emotion that everyone shared.  it’s so nice to hang out with friends and be serious and have good conversation every once in a while instead of just drinking and games.  that’s nice too, but it was nice to see the other side for a change.  thanks ladies!!

Claim to Fame

Last night on the L Word there was a guest star who played Sparkle, the guest speaker on the cruise…the one who ended up NOT hooking yo with Shane.  Her name is Katy Selverstone.  Well, a couple of summers ago Sadeana and I were lucky enough to attend the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival with the help of Kelley and Jacqueline.  Jacqueline worked for the Festival at the time.  One of the films playing was "The Politics of Fur" starring Katy Selverstone.  She was a special guest at the conference and spoke after the film about her role.  Since we had the hook up, we got to hang out in the VIP lounge with the artists and filmmakers.  Katy took to Sadeana and they hung out and talked and partied all week.  (no hooking up was involved if you were wondering)  Anyway, Sadeana called after the show last night and we were both pumped to realize it was her!! She was also in "The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood."

The garage sale will be this Saturday at 7:00am!!  If you want to donate items to sale please let me know.  If not, come by and purchase some things to help out the ladies!!!  It will be Runt’s house which is at 500 N. Forensic Files and Cold Case Files….I LOVE to watch them!  they usually come on when i get in bed and it’s late…so i end up having weird dreams, BUT i still love to watch them.  it is so interesting to see what people do and what makes someone committ such horrible crimes.   each time i watch i think "you should do that, you are so interested" and then reality clicks and i remember, oh yeah, i hate blood and cuts and i scare easy.  so i am content with just watching it on tv!

Austin turns One!!!!!

We went to a 1st b-day party tonight.  Morgan’s baby, Austin turned one and he is a big boy!  Doug, Bridget and Destini went with us and lots of Morgan’s family were there.  Morgan and I worked together at Express for those of you who don’t know.  He got his own little cake which he got all over his face, hair, shirt, shorts…you name it, it had cake on it!!!  Here are a few highlights from the party.  Oh, I don’t have a picture of the gifts we got him, but Becca was VERY proud of her choice-a tiny little baseball glove and ball.  It was a real glove too.  Not just a kiddie one.  It was a Franklin, leather glove.  It was very cute.  And of course I got him clothes!
